Hold the cube up to the camera, about a hand's width away, in even light. Show one side, then turn the cube slowly so the camera sees each of the six sides. The app tells you which sides it still needs. Then check the colors on the "Your cube" screen and choose Solve or Learn.

Avoid strong light from behind you and bright reflections on the stickers; daylight or a soft lamp works best. Keep the cube still for a moment on each side. If a color still comes out wrong, tap Rescan and show that side again.

That happens when a piece popped out and was put back the wrong way: no sequence of turns can solve the cube then. Follow the fix the app describes (for example, twist one corner a third of a turn), then show the cube again.

The app needs camera access to read the cube. Open the iPhone Settings app, find Cubic Master and turn on Camera. The camera is only used on your phone; nothing is recorded or sent anywhere.

Any standard 3×3 cube with six different colors, stickered or stickerless, in the usual color layouts (white opposite yellow, or the Japanese layout with white opposite blue).

Hold it up between you and the phone, with the side the app names facing you and the named color on top. The app checks this through the camera and tells you how to turn the cube if it is held differently.
